Ok folks…. @aldiuk - Slightly delayed but here are my favourite Autumn / Winter Selections coming from Aldi - PART ONE:
1. 🍇 0% Shiraz
This may shock people - it did for me! But given there is such high demand for 0% alcohol choices - take a look at this!
2023 Shiraz - 100% Shiraz
Good red and black fruit with a little extra and coming at just £2.99 a bottle! From the Western Cape, SAF
2. 🍇Castellore Organic Prosecco
£8.49 per bottle
12g residual sugar and a blend of 85% Glera + 15% other varietals.
- lovely pale lemon, apple and pear notes and a solid high acidity Prosecco.
3. 🍇 Kooliburra Sparkling Shiraz - love this!
£6.99 a bottle! Steal!
This is 100% Shiraz, 34g of residual sugar and it delivers with a wonderful red berry compote, blueberries, eucalyptus and bubbles too. A great fun treat!
4.🍇 Cambalala South African S Blanc
-> very elegant from again the Western Cape, subtle yet distinctive tropical fruits and notable pineapple on the palate…wait for it… £4.09 a bottle WOW
5. 🍇 Pierre Jaurant French Chardonnay
100% Chardonnay and I love to prove people wrong with this grape. It can be so much in so many different ways. This has subtle parking but yet still fragrant, light and I would dine with fish with this !
Price - you guessed it only £4.75!!
6. 🍇Estevez Chilean Viognier
I’m a stickler for a Viognier - adds body and notes of nectarine, apricot and even some Passionfruit here. Lovely vibrancy all for £6.49 a bottle!
7. 🍇 Koolibarra Adelaide Hills S Blanc
This is a real treat! 100% Sauvignon Blanc it had distinctive grassy undertones, herbaceous with zest. Beautifully balanced - yes pls at £8.99!
Finally to round off Part 1:
8. 🍇 Filos Estate Greek Chardonnay
For something different try this. Saline approach and good acidity to the wine with lovely lime evolution on nose and palate. Lovely balance and structure… all for £8.99!
