REVIEW: Canaletto - Montepulciano D'Abruzzo 2019
If appearance was everything, then this probably wouldn't win any awards BUT it is what is inside that counts after all.
This was a medium ruby with limited legs. On the nose, there was signs of morello cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, milk chocolate and vanilla....the plot thickens....
On the palate, it is certainly fully fermented to dry. Flavour profile backed up the nose with slightly more toasted mouth feel to it, vanilla had eased but still with the backdrop of raspberry and black cherry. The body was good in this wine, verging on full bodied, medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins, medium alcohol. The finish though was the only sour point of note, a little light, it comes with a medium finish when you expect a little more.
