Les Vignerons de Florensac is a 670 hectare plotted vineyard overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Refreshing and lively blends of two local grape varietals make this a fun, spritely wine, perfect for a day when the sun is shining. Citrus and grapefruit notes, offering a really typical expression of the Languedoc region. The grapes were destemmed and cool macerated for 2 hours followed up with a gentle press in tank. Fermentation takes place at the cool 13-15 degrees in stainless steel tank to ensure that the juice still holds acidity and those primary fruit forward flavours. The wine is a blend of Piquepoul 50%, Terret 50% and at an ABV of 12%.
TNWG Food Pairings: Ok, so typically Piquepoul would be a beautiful wine to go with oysters, especially in the region which are divine. However, I love it with goats cheese. And when I say I love it, I mean LOVE it, it works wonderfully well with a light, smooth goat’s cheese, not too heavy but with enough body to really compliment. If you think of the Med climate, it works very well too with grilled fish and a little secret – a fish finger or two! (Shh don’t tell anyone my secret!)
