Jim Barry is an Aussie legend, founded way back in 1959 as one of the first winemakers to drive the South Australian Clare Valley! Taking Aussie Rieslings to a whole new level and being voted in 2020 Winery of the Year no less too!
A critic scored 95 point award winning Riesling, based in the hugely acclaimed Clare Valley region, this wine has received Gold Awards and 2023 celebrates 50 years of winemaking success. Refreshing acidity and intensity in equal measure, this wine delivers crisp, deliciousness in a glass. The lemon spritely vibrancy, grapefruit zest, lime and white flowers make up this wine. A little touch of kerosene/petrolic themes in there but typically come to the fore amazingly if you age this wine a little in bottle. Harvest takes place in the cools of the night to ensure the acidity and freshness remain in the wine.
 
TNWG Food Pairings: It’s well known that Thai spiced foods go very well with Rieslings (and Gewurtztraminers). I actually though love a Riesling with a really spicy and hot Indian too. The acidity and freshness of the wine, but with enough body, cut through the heat and work perfectly. I also though think this wine works rather well with a stir fry, so grab some random ingredients from the fridge and cook it up!
